Central European Missiological Forum 2012

Dear friends, it is our pleasure to introduce you the new issue of Central European Missiological Forum (CEMF), published anually as an English-language selection of some of the articles that appeared in another CECMS journal, Misiologické fórum, in Czech/Slovak during the previous year. The current issue of CEMF is built around two major thematic blocks which we pursued in 2012. First, Pavel Černý, Viktória Šoltésová, Pavol Bargár and Kwang Hyun Ryu discuss the new ecumenical affirmation on mission and evangelism, Together toward Life: Mission and Evangelism in Changing Landscapes, published by the WCC in 2012. It is important to note that this discussion had taken place before the final version of the text appeared. Except for K. H. Ryu, all the authors therefore used the so-called Working Draft 11 for their essays. This fact as such might represent an interesting contribution to the ongoing global debate on this undoubtedly important document. The second theme CEMF pursues is related to baptism and mission. Kornélia Kolářová Takácsová, Milan Jurík, Mikuláš Zoubek and Petr Macek reflect on baptism as a missionary opportunity and on challenges, pitfalls and hopes connected therewith. The whole discussion takes into consideration various perspectives, including, for example, mainline Protestant and Radical Reformation.
